The petrochemical industry is a source of hazardous organic compounds generated during manufacture or use. 
Burning fossil fuels releases greenhouse gases and air pollutants into our atmosphere. 

Hazardous waste is generated during extraction, transport, storage and processing. 
All products produced, such as fuel, pavement, plastic, entail irreversible environmental pollution. 
Be it the seabed, remote forest areas, arctic ice or island beaches, petroleum-based plastics 
are already polluting every corner of the earth.
